Description

Folio: 426v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William, son of William de Reddeburne [Redbourne].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Five acres of land with appurtenances in seven selions in the territory of Kokrinton [Cockerington] on the west side of the vill in a place called Wylgwange, lying between the land of John le Waassur [Vavasour] next on the east side and the land which Walter son of Osbert holds on the west side, whose limits abut towards the north upon Wilggate and towards the south, as regards six selions, upon the land which Peter de Wyumme holds, and upon the land which Robert Burre holds. The seventh selion extends in length until Halbecke, namely the whole land with appurtenances which William had or could have and with easements there. For five marks which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely and quietly, in fee and inheritance. Paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at the feast of St Botolph for all services and customs, suits of courts and demands.
