Description

Folios: 425v-426. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William de Redburne [Redbourne].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfleby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One acre and one perch of meadow and four acres of land in the territory of Cokerington [Cockerington], namely three acres on the west side of the vill, two selions of which extend beyond the way called Ludhegate, and they lie between the land of Peter de Wyum on the west side and the land of the nuns of Alvingham on the east side, and they abut towards the north upon the headland of the abbot of Parco Lude [Louth Park] and towards the south upon the headland of the same nuns, and two selions there lie towards the east between the land of Walter son of Osbert on the west side and the land of Robert de Crepping on the east side, and they abut towards the north and towards the south upon the same headland, and one selion there towards the east between the land of Reginald the reeve on the west side and the land of Richard Wudecoc on the east side, and it abuts towards the north upon the land of those nuns and towards the south upon the headland of Richard Wudecoc, and one selion in Scalbemarewang between the land of Richard Walcas on the south side and the land of Peter de Wyum on the north side, and it abuts upon Philip's land towards the west and upon the land of those nuns towards the east, and one in Langmarehil between the land of the nuns on the north side and the land of John le Vavasur on the south side, and it abuts towards the west upon William's land and upon the headland of Richard Wudecoc towards the east; and one acre of land on the east side of the vill, of which one selion lies in Aufraiholm between William's land on the west side and the land of John le Vavasur on the east side, and it abuts upon the field of Grimolby [Grimoldby] towards the south, and upon le Suthgate towards the north, and one selion by Magnuscroft betwen the land of the nuns on the west side and the land of John son of Maud on the east side, and it abuts upon the field of Grimoldby and upon Suthgate, and one selion on the east side of Neucroft between the land of John son of Maud on the west sside and the land of John le Vavasur on the east side, and it abuts upon Northstict towards the north and upon le Sick towards the south; and one acre of meadow and one perch in Hondailes between the land of John le Vavasur on the south side and the land of Peter de Wyum on the north side, and it abuts upon the meadow of the abbot of Parco [Louth Park] towards the east, and upon Hengdic towards the west. Fully and entirely without any reservation. To hold to Philip and his heirs and assigns of William and his heirs freely in fee and inheritance, paying to William and his heirs yearly one clove for all suits of courts, services, customs and demands.
