Description

Folios: 424-424v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William de Redburn [Redbourne].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Twelve acres of land in the territory of Cokerington [Cockerington] in the west field, namely the whole land which William had in [blank] lying between the lands of John le Vavasur [Vavasour] on both sides, and it abuts upon the headland which Philip bought from Lambert le Curteys towards the south and upon the wood towards the north, and two selions of land there lying between the land of John son of Maud on the north side and the way which leads towards Suthgate on the south side, and it abuts upon the wood towards the west and upon the headland of Peter de Wyum towards the east, and one selion of land called [blank] lying next between the land of Lady Nicola de Sancta Maria on the west side and the land of Hugh son of Gamel on the east side, and it abuts upon Wudegate towards the north and upon le Margate of Stiveton [Stewton] towards the south; and one selion of land lying between the land of John le Vavasur on the east side and the land of the nuns of Alvingham on the west side, and it abuts upon the watercourses of Grimolby [Grimoldby] towards the south and upon the land of those nuns towards the north; and three selions of land lying between the land of John le Vavasur on the east side and the land of Peter de Wyum on the west side, and it abuts upon Wudegate towards the south and upon Wudesick towards the north; and one selion of land lying there between the land of John le Vavasur on the west side and the land of those nuns on the east side, and it abuts upon Wudesick towards the north; and one selion lying between the land of John le Vavasur and the land of Peter de Wyum, and it abuts upon Wudesick towards the north; and two selions there between the lands of those nuns on both sides, and they abut towards the north upon Wudesick; and one selion on the east side of le Wudebergh between the land of John son of Maud on the south side and the land of those nuns on the north side, and it abuts upon the headland of the same Nicola towards the west and upon the land of Peter de Wyum towards the east. And two selions of land between Nicola's land on the north side and the land of John, son of Simon Wudecoc, on the south side, and they abut upon the land of Robert son of Gamel towards the east and upon William's land towards the west. With free entry and exit and all appurtenances, fully and entirely, without any reservation. For 100s which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns of William and his heirs freely, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at the feast of St Botolph for all services, suits of courts, customs and demands.
