Description

Folio: 422v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William, son of William de Redburne [Redbourne].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Five acres of land in the territory of Cokerinton [Cockerington] in the east field in a placecalled Haringsichole, five selions of which lie between the land of John Hacun on the west side and the land of Lambert le Curtais on the east side, and they abut upon Socelingate towards the north and upon Haringsic towards the south, and one selion lies there between the land of John le Vavasur [Vavasour] and the land of Peter de Wyum, and they abut upon le Sic towards the south and upon the land of John Gerum towards the north, and two selions lie there between the land of John le Vavasur on the west side and the land of John Hacun on the east side, and they abut upon le Sic towards the south and upon the land of the nuns of Alvingham towards the north, with free entry and exit and all appurtenances, fully and entirely without any reservation. For four marks which Philip gave to William in advance in his need. To hold to Philip and his heirs and assigns of William and his heirs freely, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs white gloves or one halfpenny at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs and exactions.
