Description

Folio: 420. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William, son of William de Redburn [Redbourne].

Second party: Philip Galle of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: A moiety of one bovate of land in the territory of Cokeringthon [Cockerington] with the toft, croft and buildings where Richard Wudecoc lives, without any reservation, in meadows, pastures, pasturages and in all other places with their appurtenances belonging to that tenement. He also gave Philip one acre of land on the west side of the vill in a place called Wylg, lying between the lands of the nuns of Alvingham on the west side and John le Vavasur [Vavasour] on the east side, whose limit abuts towards the north upon the headland of Peter de Wybur and towards the south upon le Becke. He also granted Philip, for his homage and service, Richard Wudecoc, Simon, his son and Roger, his brother, William's villeins, for a moiety with all their followings and chattels, without any reservation. For £10 which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs of William and his heirs in fee and inheritance freely and quietly. Paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs, suits of courts and demands, saving foreign service pertaining to such a tenement of the same fee.
