Description

Folios: 415-415v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: John, son of Walter de Wyberton of Holandie [Holland], with the advice and assent of Emma, his wife, and his heirs.

Second party: Peter Galle of Manneby [Manby].

Place or subject: Nine selions of arable land with appurtenances in the territory of Little Carleton [Little Carlton, lying on the north side of the vill, three selions of which lie next between Peter's land on the west side and the land of Walter de Asfortby on the east side, and abut towards the south upon Asserwalles, three selions lie upon Veselberch next between Peter's land on the north side and the land of Walter de Asfortby on the south side, and abut towards the west upon Peter's land, two selions lie upon Watlandes next between Peter's land on the north side and the land of Walter de Asfortby on the south side, and one selion, next to the path towards Lud [Louth], lies next between the land of John de Carleton [Carlton] on the south sude and Walter's land on the north side. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Peter gave to John in advance. To hold to Peter and his heirs of John and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying 3d yearly to John and his heirs at three terms of the year, namely 1d at each of the feasts of Christmas, St Botolph and Michaelmas, and doing foreign service and suit of the wapentake court pertaining to that land for all other services, customs and demands.
