Description

Folio: 412v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: Jordan, son of Robert de Hupptopp of Carleton [Carlton].

Second party: Peter Galle of Manneby [Manby], son of Odo.

Place or subject: The homage and service with all appurtenances of John, son of Hugh at the Hall of Little Carleton [Little Carlton], and of his heirs and assigns, which homage and service John did to Jordan and ought to do forever to him and his heirs, for one half bovate of land with appurtenances which Jordan gave to John and his heirs in the vill and territories of Little Carlton by charter, excepting two selions of arable land from that half-bovate which Jordan gave to Peter and his heirs by charter. And 2s of annual rent and foreign service which John, son of Hugh at the hall, owed to Jordan and was accustomed to render for that half-bovate of land, excepting those two selions, just as is contained in the charter of enfeoffment which John has from Jordan. For a certain sum of money which Peter gave to Jordan in advance. To hold to Peter and his heirs and assigns freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying 2s yearly to the lord of the fee at two terms of the year and foreign service which pertains to half a bovate.
