First party: Alan, son of William son of Alice de Thedlethorp [Theddlethorpe].
Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].
Place or subject: A fourth part of one 'mauneslote' of land in the territory of Gayton, namely a moiety of the whole land with appurtenances which Gilbert the clerk, Alan's brother, had from the gift of Andrew, son of Roger de Gayton. Which land descends to Alan in inheritance by the death of Gilbert, his brother, together with a moiety of the rent of 15d, to be received yearly from Philip for the land which he has from the gift of John son of Roger in Gayton, and with a moiety of 2s a year from Margaret daughter of Roger, to be received for one toft called Tulliotcroft, and a moiety of the rent of one pair of white gloves or one halfpenny, to be received yearly from Robert, son of Osbert Blund, for the land which he has by the gift of Gilbert, Alan's brother, with homages, services, free entry and exit, escheats, liberties, easements, in meadows, pastures, pasturages, fields, marshes, ways and paths and in all other places, within the vill and outside. Without any reservation, fully and entirely. The capital dwelling house with buildings will remain entirely to Alan and his heirs for being about to have such arable land in the field of Gayton in a place suitable to Philip and his heirs. To hold to Philip and his heirs and assigns of Alan and his heirs freely, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying 13½d yearly to Alan and his heirs at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs and exactions, saving such foreign service as pertains to such land from the same fee.
