Description

Folios: 408-408v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Exchange of lands.

First party: Thomas, son of Alan de Skittebroc [Skidbrooke].

Second party: Master John Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: The whole land which Thomas had in Thuerlandes in the territory of Skittebrok [Skidbrooke] lying next between the land of Thomas son of Hugh and the land of Thomas son of David on the north side and John's land of on the south side, and abutting towards the west upon the land of Roger the chaplain and towards the east upon the land of William de Lecgesby [Legsby] and the land which was of Robert the carpenter; one selion of arable land in the same territory lying in Abintopp next between the land of Thomas son of Hugh on the east side and the land of Roger the vicar on the west side, and abutting towards the south upon Thuerlandes and towards the north upon the common way. [In exchange] for the whole land which John had in Thomas's toft and croft lying between the land of Lawrence son of Robert on the west side and the land of the abbot and convent of Parco Lud [Louth Park] on the east side. And for half an acre of meadow and thirteen 'falls' in the meadows of Skittebroch [Skidbrooke] lying between the meadow of John son of Thomas on the east side and Thomas's meadow on the west side. To hold to John and his heirs and assigns in pure and perpetual exchange.
