Description

Folios: 407v-408. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Agreement.

First party: Robert, son of Ralph de Sutton.

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: Robert demised at farm to Philip and his heirs or assigns 12½ acres of meadow in Carleton [Carlton] in the place called Holmesdayle, lying between Philip's meadow on the east side and Robert's meadow on the west side, with free entry and exit, appurtenances, easements and liberties, in waters and in all other places. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Philip gave to Robert in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, peacefully until the end of a term of twelve years next following, until Philip and his heirs and assigns have fully received twelve crops from that meadow. Once those twelve years are finished and twelve crops have been received by Philip and his heirs or assigns fully and entirely, the meadow with appurtenances will return to Robert and his heirs without challenge from Philip or his heirs or assigns.
