Folios: 406-406v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Acknowledgement of receipt of dower.
First party: Mariota, relict of John the clerk of Stiftona [Stewton].
Second party: Peter Galle of Manneby [Manby].
Place or subject: Mariota acknowledges she has received from Peter Galle her dower from the land which was of John, her late husband, in the vill and territory of Stiftona [Stewton], which she exacted from him by the king's writ of dower. Whereupon she has quitclaimed Peter and his heirs from all exaction. For this grant Mariota has bound herself, under pain of 40s to be paid to the fabric fund of the church of Manneby [Manby], to acquit Peter from the king's court and from all demands. Peter granted Mariota a third part of her share of corn sown, to be received at Michaelmas, 43 Hen III.
