Description

Folios: 401v-402. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: Peter, son of Odo Galle of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Andrew, son of Ernise of Skytebroch [Skidbrooke] and Beatrice, his wife, of Apelgardthe.

Place or subject: Two selions of land lying in the territory of Skytebrock [Skidbrooke] in a place called Fencroft between the land of Walter Gentyl on the west side and the land of Andrew and Beatrice on the east side, and abutting towards the south upon the way and towards the north upon the royal way. To hold to Andrew and Beatrice, his wife, during the whole of their lives and the survivor of them freely, peacefully, well and in peace, paying 20d yearly to Peter and his heirs at four terms of the year, namely 5d at each of the feasts of Michaelmas, Christmas, Easter and St Botolph, for all secular services and suits of courts, making for Peter and his heirs the ditch of the sea and freshwater, and the common of the vill belonging to that land.
