Description

Folios: 399v-400. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: Ranulf, son of Schuynn de Schittebroch [Skidbrooke].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: 3½ acres of arable land with appurtenances in the territory of Schittebroch [Skidbrooke] lying next between Philip's land on the north side and the land of Robert the miller on the south side, and abutting towards the west upon the royal way and towards the east upon the land of Richard Honti. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Philip gave to Ranulf in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying 4d yearly to the lord of the fee at the terms appointed in the soke, and 3d to Robert the miller and his heirs at four terms, namely 1d at Christmas, 0½d at Easter, 0½d at the feast of St Botolph, and 1d at Michaelmas, for all services, secular custioms and demands.
