Description

Folio: 394v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: R, abbot, and the Augustinian convent of Grymesby [Grimsby].

Second party: Elias, son of John de Karletun [Carlton].

Place or subject: The whole of that land in the vill of Manneby [Manby] which the abbot and convent had in Hallecroft by the gift of Gilbert son of Roger; and also on the east side of the same vill three acres of arable land between the lands of Robert son of Gilbert and Robert son of Odo; and 3½ at Waldingmare next to the land of Robert son of Odo towards the east; and 3½ upon Waldinge next to Odo's land towards the east; and 3½ acres upon Mikelherbe between the lands of Robert son of Osbert and Robert, son of Odo; and half an acre next to the land of Robert son of Odo towards the east at Elnesornelic, and on the west side of the vill two acres and one perch in Allakewange between the lands of Robert son of Gilbert and Robert son of Odo; and three selions next to the land of William, son of John de Manneby [Manby], which abut upon the headland of Peter Galle towards the east; and three selions at Glenmare, and two acres and one perch between the lands of Robert son of Gilbert and Robert son of Odo; and 3½ acres at Faureshornes next to the land of Robert son of Gilbert towards the west; and two acres next to Ludegatesth next to the land of Robert son of Gilbert towards the north; and also two acres of meadow in Nesfen between the meadow of Robert son of Gilbert and Robert son of Odo. To hold of the abbot and convent freely, quietly and honourably with all appurtenances within the vill and outside, paying 3s yearly in their abbey for all service which pertains to them, at two terms, namely 18d at the feast of St Botolph and 18d at Michaelmas.
