Description

Folios: 392v-393. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: Peter, son of Odo Galle of Saufletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Robert, perpetual vicar of Skitebrock [Skidbrooke], and Thomas, his son.

Place or subject: One selion of land in the territory of Skitebrock [Skidbrooke] which contains three perches of land with appurtenances, lying between the land of the church of St Botolph of Skytebrock [Skidbrooke] on the south side and the land of Robert and Thomas on the north side, whose side abuts towards the west upon the common way of the vill and towards the east upon the bank of the vill. To hold to Robert and Thomas, their heirs or assigns, excepting religious men and Jews, of Peter and his heirs freely, quietly, and in right of inheritance. Paying 12d to Peter and his heirs, namely 3d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas, for all services, secular customs, exactions, demands and suits of court, excepting commons of the vill belonging to that selion, and two appearances a year at the court of Skitebrock [Skidbrooke], namely at the next court after Michaelmas and after Easter, and 'sacrabar', when it runs.
