First party: John, son of Alan de Sumercotes [Somercotes], with the advice and assent of his heirs.
Second party: John, son of Wluiue of Gernumtorp [Grainthorpe].
Place or subject: The land which John held of the hospital of [the knights of St John of] Jerusalem by Saltflet [Saltfleetby], lying between the land of Godric son of Vinis and the land of Bovine son of Ranulf, and it extends from the way as far as the sea towards the east, with the house built thereon. To hold of the hospital freely, quietly and in inheritance, paying 6d yearly for all services at two terms, namely 3d at Easter and 3d at Michaelmas.
