Description

Folio: 390. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Grant.

First party: Roger, vicar of Skitebrok [Skidbrooke].

Second party: William, his nephew.

Place or subject: The whole of the land which Roger bought from William son of Ascilia in the territory of Skitebrok [Skidbrooke], one selion of arable land lying in Saltcroft, two selions and a half lying between the lands of Robert del Dic and the lands of William son of Geoffrey, the whole land which Roger bought from Alan de Marisco, lying in his croft, with the whole messuage, excepting the fee of Welletun [Welton], one acre lying in Haldecroft, which was of Edine le Warde, the whole land which Roger bought from Simon Bunting in the territory of Skidbrooke with the meadow pertaining to it, the whole land lying in Frankiscroft which Roger bought from Simon Frankis and Richard, his brother, the whole land lying in Hogsencroft between the lands of Thomas son of Hugh, the whole meadow which pertains to that land, five perches of meadow lying in the meadows of Sumercotes [Somercotes] upon Bulbekdayle, and the whole land which Roger bought from Robert de Welletun [Welton], excepting the ground of the mill, which contains three acres. To hold to William during his life, paying yearly the whole service to the lords of the fee which pertains to such lands. And if it happens that William dies before Roger, all these lands will return to Roger and his assigns without any impediment and reservation from William's heirs or assigns.
