Description

Folios: 389-389v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter E. Agreement.

First party: Robert de Bernake, son of Robert de Bernake [Barnack].

Second party: Thomas, son of Alan de Skitebrok [Skidbrooke].

Place or subject: Robert demised to Thomas and his heirs or assigns his whole land which he had in the territory of Skitebrok [Skidbrooke], both in arable lands and also in meadows, with all appurtenances, from that term until the end of five years following, until Thomas and his heirs or assigns have fully received five crops thereof, freely, quietly, fully and entirely until the end of the term. Thomas and his heirs are to pay 3s each year within that term for this land to Robert and his heirs or assigns at the feast of St Botolph for all earthly services, exactions and demands. Robert and his heirs are not to sell or alienate that land unless with the consent of Thomas or his heirs or assigns. Once those five years have elapsed and five crops have been fully received, the whole land will remain quit and absolute to Robert and his heirs or assigns from Thomas and his heirs and assigns without impediment and challenge.
