Description

Folios: 384-384v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Maud de Saltfletby [Saltfleetby], daughter of Alan Lothen, maiden.

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: 6½ acres of land in the territory of the same vill, six acres of which lie between the land of Richard son of Humphrey on the north side and the land of Alice de Carleton [Carlton] on the south side, and the western limit abuts upon the land called Aapolgate, and the eastern limit upon Hueuetoftes, and half an acre lies in Arkelcroft between the land of Alice de Carleton and the land of Robert son of Hugh, and the southern limit abuts upon the land of William de Croftes, and the northern limit abuts upon Maredikgate. To hold to Philip and his heirs and assigns in fee and inheritance as freely as Maud held that land, paying 10d yearly to the lord of the fee at four terms appointed in the soke of Gayton, namely 2½d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas, for all services, customs and exactions.
