Description

Folios: 383-383v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Walter, son of Wygot de Holm.

Second party: Odo Galle.

Place or subject: Six acres of meadow lying in Neucroft in the territory of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] between the land of William de Holm, one croft and one gore of Rosere lying between Aa and Adic, and one acre and a half of arable land lying upon Holm upon Hungrehill, which lands Odo held in right of inheritance of the gift of William, Walter's father, paying 7d to him and his heirs yearly. Walter releases to Odo and his heirs 6d a year for one mark which Odo gave him for this release. Odo and his heirs will hold these lands of Walter and his heirs freely, quietly, absolutely and honourably in fee and inheritance, paying 1d yearly to Walter and his heirs for all service and secular exaction and custom at the feast of St Botolph.
