Description

Folio: 381v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Hawise, daughter of Ernise de Schitebroc [Skidbrooke].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saufletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: The whole of Hawise's land lying between the land of William son of Geoffrey on the north side, which was of the fee of Godric son of Onneys, and he holds of Roger the chaplain, and Curneys on the south side, and abutting upon the way towards the east and towards the west in length of 14½ 'falls' in a place called Moldelane at le Dunes of Schitebrok [Skidbrooke], with all appurtenances and liberties. Saving to Hawise a way with her cart to her sand-pit and to plough her own land on the west side of that place, when it will be necessary, together with one stall to be established there. To hold to Philip and his heirs of Hawise and her heirs in fee and inheritance, paying 2d yearly to them at Christmas for all service, secular exaction, suits of courts and demands.
