Description

Folios: 381-381v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Walter, son of Wyot de Manneby [Manby], with the advice and assent of his heirs.

Second party: Peter de Mannebi [Manby], son of Odo Galle of Salfletebi [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One toft, surrounded by a ditch, with buildings, embankments and appurtenances in the vill of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] lying next between the land of Master John Galle on the west side and the land late of William le Boner on the east side, and it abuts towards the north upon John's land and towards the south as far as the middle of the watercourse of Haa. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Peter gave to Walter in advance. To hold to Peter and his heirs and assigns freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, well and in peace, doing to the lord of the fee the services which belong to that land, and paying to Walter and his heirs one rose within the quindene of St John the Baptist for all secular services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
