Description

Folio: 379v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: William, son of Osbert de Frankys of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip Galle of the same vill.

Place or subject: One croft, surrounded by a ditch, lying in the vill of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] at Philip's mill on the west side, called Milnecroft, 2½ acres lying in the territory of Saltfleetby at Hatquenesbrich, namely of arable ground, nine acres of arable land lying in that territory in the place called Schualn, and a third part of four acres of meadow lying in the same vill in the place called Milnehengland. With all appurtenances, liberties and easements. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to the lords of the fee the service which belongs to that land, namely to Henry the clerk and his heirs for the croft at the mill 4d at four terms of the year; and to the heirs of Alan de Multona [Moulton] 19d at the four terms appointed in the soke for the other lands, for all secular services, customs, suits of courts and demands. In addition, William granted Philip and his heirs a third part of four acres of meadow lying in the north meadows of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] at Hatstenesbrich. To hold to him and his heirs of William and his heirs freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying them 6d yearly at four terms, namely 1d at the feast of All Saints, 1d at Easter, 2d at Pentecost, and 2d at Michaelmas.
