Description

Folios: 376v-377. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Nicholas son of Martin and Idonia, his wife, daughter of Agnes Mole of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: The whole land which Nicholas and Idonia had on the south side of their toft, containing two acres, with appurtenances, lying between Philip's land on the east side and the land formerly of Walter the chaplain on the west side, and it abuts towards the south upon the land of Robert, son of William the knight of Manneby [Manby] and towards the north upon the embankment of the toft of Nicholas and Idonia. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Philip gave to Nicholas and Idonia in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, peacefully and honourably in fee and inheritance, paying 2d yearly to the lord of the fee at the terms appointed in the soke for all secular services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
