Description

Folio: 375v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: John, son of Peter Galle of Saufletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Simon, son of Walter de Luda [Louth], at one time living in Halinton [Hallington].

Place or subject: Two tofts and one bovate of land with appurtenances, liberties and easements, lying in the vill and territory of Halinton [Hallington], which at one time Henry Suchuyste held, without any reservation. For his homage and service. To hold to Simon and his heirs, [paying] 11s at two terms of the year, namely 5s 6d at each of the feasts of St Botolph and Martinmas, for all services, customs and demands. Saving to John and his heirs foreign service from those lands as far as it pertains to two tofts and one bovate of land from the same fee, and to the lord of the fee the service which pertains to those tenements.

County: [Lincolnshire].

Additional people: Witnesses: Andrew de Schupholm; John, his brother; Philip le Boner; John de Luda [Louth], living in Halinton [Hallington]; Walter Hupp' of the same; Alan West of the same; Ralph, son of Gilbert of the same; and Walter de Saufletby [Saltfleetby].

Dated at Salfletby [Saltfleetby] at the church of St Clement.

Pentecost, 1277.
