Description

Folios: 375-375v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: John, son of Peter Galle of Saufletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Alan, son of Robert le Gardiner of Tedeltorp [Theddlethorpe].

Place or subject: A certain close of pasture, surrounded by a ditch, called Saladinecrofte in the territory of Saufletby [Saltfleetby], lying between the lands of John himself on both sides, and lasting in length from Neudic, which is on the south side, as far as John's arable land, which is on the north side; and whatever is in that close of pasture. With all ditches, commodities, liberties and easements, with free entry and exit to that close of pasture. For his homage. To hold of John and his heirs to Alan and his heirs and assigns with all appurtenances and commodities, freely, quietly, entirely, peacefully and in inheritance, paying yearly to John and his heirs 5s at four terms of the year appointed in the soke of Gayton, for all services, suits of courts, wards, reliefs, actions and demands.
