Description

Folio: 375. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: John, son of Peter Galle of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip de Boneyr of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Three acres of pasture and two and a half acres of meadow with all ditches and appurtenances, liberties and easements within the vill and outside, lying in the vill and territory of Salfletby [Saltfleetby] next between the meadow of William Dunpyng on the west side and the toft of Walter Pya and the meadow of the church of All Saints of Salfletby [Saltfleetby] on the east side, and they abut towards the south upon the bank and towards the north upon le Neudykygate. For his homage and service. To hold of John and his heirs to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, well and in peace and inheritance forever. Paying yearly to John in his life only one mark at two terms of the year, namely 6s 8d at the feast of St James and 6s 8d at Martinmas. And after the death of John, paying to his heirs 1d only at Christmas for all services, secular exactions and demands, and doing to the lord of the fee for John and his heirs 9d at the terms appointed in the soke of Gayton. Philip will dower lLdy Maud, relict of Peter Galle, with those tenements.
