Description

Folios: 374-374v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Final concord.

First party: Alan, clerk of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Walter Galle.

Place or subject: Alan has quitclaimed to Walter and his heirs two crofts around the church of St Clement, and whatever is contained within them, quit from him and his heirs. The length of those crofts extends from Maredic as far as Neudic, and the width from the land of Robert son of Mole as far as the land of Reginald son of Grymkell. Alan also quitclaimed Walter from all challenge being moved between them on the day of this concord, for four marks which Walter gave him, and for the quitclaim from the land which Alan's father pledged to Walter, for 35s, and each of them quitclaimed the other from all challenge.

Made in the soke of Gaitun [Gayton] before Gikell son of Alan, then steward, and before the soke of Gaitune.
