Description

Folios: 373v-374. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Andrew, son of Hugh le Neucumen of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle.

Place or subject: A moiety of one croft, surrounded by a ditch, called Orrecroft, and it lies in the territory of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] between la Munkedayle on the east side and the land of the church of St Peter on the west side, whose limit on the north abuts upon le Neudic and the southern limit upon the land of Hugh de Croftes and upon the land of Thomas son of Godfrey. For three marks which Philip gave to Andrew in his great need. To hold to Philip and his heirs and assigns of Andrew and his heirs freely, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly 2s 8d at three terms of the year, namely 10½d at Pentecost, 10½d at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and 11d at the feast of Martinmas, for all services, suits, customs and exactions.
