Description

Folio: 369v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Appointment of attorney.

First party: William, son of Nicholas de Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of the same vill.

Place or subject: William has attorned Philip, his heirs or assigns to pay forever, on behalf of William and his heirs, to the house of the hospital of St John the Baptist in Malteby [Maltby] and the brethren there, 12d a year at two terms, namely 6d at Easter and 6d at Michaelmas, those 12d which William and his ancestors were accustomed to pay yearly at those terms to that house and brethren for the land they held of them in the vill of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby], which is to say for the messuage in which William and his ancestors were accustomed to live, which messuage lies between the land of Robert son of William on the east side and the land of Andrew son of Hugh on the west side, and it extends in length from Neudic towards the south as far as the land of Andrew son of Hugh and the land of John, William's brother, towards the north.
