Description

Folio: 367. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Sale.

First party: Andrew, son of William son of Isabel de Saufletebi [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saufledby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One acre of meadow and one perch in the meadows of Saufledbi [Saltfleetby] lying between the land of Walter de Reythebi [Raithby] on the west side and the land of Walter, his brother, on the east side, the limits of which abut upon the land of Walter de Oxcumbe towards the north and upon the land which was of Andrew Galle towards the south. For two marks which Philip gave to Andrew. In addition, Andrew has quitclaimed to the said Philip and his heirs forever 6d of rent every year, which Philip's predecessors were accustomed to pay to him and his predecessors every single year, for lands bought from Andrew and his predecessors in the vill of Saufledby [Saltfleetby]. To hold of Andrew and his heirs to Philip and his heirs freely, quietly and peacefully, paying 1d yearly both for that land and also for the remittanee of that rent to him and his heirs at the feast of St Botolph for all service and secular exaction.
