Description

Folio: 359v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Agreement.

First party: Agnes de St Paul.

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: Agnes demised for the whole of her life to Philip one toft with appurtenances lying next between the land which Walter son of Margaret holds on the south side and the lane called Bechemlane on the north side, whose limits abut towards the west upon the royal way and towards the east upon le Beche, which was assigned to her for her dower, for all other tofts, crofts, pastures and easements which were once of Richard son of Henry, her husband, in the vill of Thatwell [Tathwell], and the whole third part of all lands and easements with appurtenances which fell to her in the name of dower in the territories of Tathwell and liberties. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns during the whole life of Agnes, for 10s a year to be paid to her at Easter, as long as she is alive. In addition, Agnes received from Philip the rent of five years in advance before the assigment of the deeds. [Further details given].
