Description

Folio: 355v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Gilbert de Thedlothorp [Theddlethorpe], clerk, son of Alan.

Place or subject: One croft of land, surrounded by a ditch, in the vill of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] called Orrecroft, and it lies between the land of the church of St Peter on the west side and the land of Ranulf Pye called Munkesdayle on the east side, and it extends in length from Neudic towards the north as far as the lands of Thomas son of Godfrey and Hugh de Croftis towards the south, with free entries and exits and with all liberties, easements and appurtenances pertaining to that land, in ways, paths, meadows, pastures and all other places within the vill and outside. For his homage and service. To hold to Gilbert and his heirs of Philip and his heirs freely, fully, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to Philip and his heirs 12s at three terms of the year, namely 4s at each of the feasts of Pentecost, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Martinmas, for all services, customs and exactions.
