Description

Folios: 353-353v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of Walter at the church of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: A moiety of the whole land which Walter, Robert's father, once held in the vill of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby], namely that moiety towards the west, in all places with appurtenances, which is to say the moiety of the land lying in the place in which Walter, Robert's father, once lived, from Neudic as far as le Aadic, and the moiety of one croft in Langland which Ralph, son of William son of Kisel, gave to Walter, Robert's brother, and to Robert in exchange, and a moiety of one selion lying in Dayla between the land of Walter son of William towards the west and the land of Thomas de Lindesey [Lindsey] towards the east, and a moiety of five acres of land lying on the east side of the croft which was of William Rose, and one selion of land lying on the north side of Flet next to the land of Adam son of Alexander, and a moiety of eight acres of land which Walter, Robert's father, bought from Reginald Mort, lying in four selions on the west side of the land which was of Robert son of Gamel, and it extends in length from Flet to the croft of Walter de Oxecumbe, and a moiety of two acres of land which Walter, Robert's father, bought from William Wyndel, lying in two selions next on the west side of those four selions. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns of the lord of the fee of Lankenet freely and in right of inheritance, paying yearly to the lord of that fee 27½d at four terms of the year appointed in the soke of Gayton for all services.
