Description

Folio: 348v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Agreement.

First party: Philip Galle.

Second party: Agnes, late wife of Andrew Galle.

Place or subject: Philip granted Agnes land in the territory of Saufletby [Saltfleetby], which Odo Galle gave to Andrew, his son, by his charter, and just as the charter bears witness, which Agnes has concerning this, sealed with Philip's seal, in the name of dower. Philip also granted her Thoraldecroft in the name of dower. Doing the service belonging to those lands to Philip and his heirs, just as the charters bear witness which Philip has concerning them, with all appurtenances and easements within the vill and outside. For this grant Agnes quitclaimed to Philip and his heirs her whole right and claim in lands, meadows, pastures, the advowson of the church of St Clement, the mill and in all other lands and things in the vills of Saufleteby [Saltfleetby], Manneby [Manby], Grimolby [Grimoldby], Skytebrok [Skidbrooke], Sumercotes [Somercotes] and rents in the name of dower.

County: [Lincolnshire].

Additional people: Made before Ralph Basset, sheriff of Lincolnshire, and other knights and loyal subjects of the king. Sealed together with the seal of Walter Bek. Witnesses: Ralph Basset; Walter Bek; Robert de Wylgeby [Willoughby]; Thomas de Caningholm; Harald son of Humphrey; John de Sumercotes [Somercotes]; Simon de Danby; John de Cokrington [Cockerington]; Walter de Hoxcumbe; and Herbert de Saufleteby [Saltfleetby].
