Description

Folios: 343-343v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Alan, son of Robert de Grimmolby [Grimoldby], with the advice and assent of Idonea, his wife, and his heirs.

Second party: Peter Aky, son of William de Saltfletbi [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: 5½ acres of meadow with appurtenances lying in the north meadows of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] between the meadow of Robert de Hapol, son of Agnes de Legreste, on the north side, and the meadow of Thomas de Carleton [Carlton] on the south side, and abutting towards the east upon Robert's meadow and towards the west upon Lansich. Also the whole of Alan's meadow with appurtenances lying in the meadows of Grymmolbi [Grimoldby] in a place called Neucroft between the barony of Stifton on the south side and the land which was of William son of Alexander on the north side, and it abuts towards the west upon le Hindich and towards the east upon Leteldych. And one plot of meadow with appurtenances lying in the same meadows, extending in width 4½ feet between the barony on the south side and the land of John son of Adam on the north side, and abutting similarly between those meadows. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money. To hold to Peter and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance of Alan and his heirs, paying yearly to Alan and his heirs 1d at two terms of the year, namely 0½d at each of the feasts of St Botolph within the quindene and Michaelmas within the quindene, for all services, secular customs, tallages, suits of courts and demands.
