Description

Folio: 338. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Agreement.

First party: Lord Philip Galle.

Second party: Peter Aky of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Philip granted Peter seven acres of land and twenty-four 'falls', of which Peter enfeoffed him by his charter. For 8m 9s 3½d to be paid to Philip and his heirs or assigns at the below-written terms, namely 4m 4s 7¾d in the octave of St James the Apostle 1259, and 4m 4s 7¾d in the octave of Michaelmas next following, and without further delay. To hold to Peter and his heirs freely, quietly, well and in peace without any challenge or claim from Philip and his heirs or assigns forever. Towards keeping this agreement firmly and without fraud, Peter bound all his goods, moveable and immoveable, acquired and to be acquired, for doing to Philip, his heirs or assigns whatever will be pleasing to them, under pain of 40s to be paid to them, if he ceases in payment of this money at any of these terms in total or in part.
