Description

Folios: 333v-334. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Quitclaim.

First party: Robert, son of Ralph de Aldyth of Salfledeby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Hugh, son of Osbert de Salfledeby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: All Robert's right and claim in one acre and a half of land in Salfledeby [Saltfleetby] in Rolnescroft, which Osbert son of Robert, father of Hugh, had from the gift of Ralph, Robert's father, and Alice, Robert's mother, fully and entirely without any reservation, three perches of which lie next between the land which was of Hugh son of Gille and the land of William son of Walter, and they abut towards the south upon Saltergate; and three perches lie next between the land which was of Thomas son of Magnus and the land of the same William son of Walter, and they extend in length from Saltergate on the south side as far as Grist towards the north side. To hold to Hugh and his heirs of the lord of the fee freely, quietly and in inheritance, paying yearly to the lord of the fee 5¾d at the terms appointed in the soke, just as the charter of Osbert he has from Ralph, Robert's father, and from Alice, Robert's mother, bears witness. For this quitclaim Hugh gave Robert two marks.
