Description

Folios: 328-328v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Adam, son of Robert de Saltfledby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of the same vill.

Place or subject: Two and a half acres of land in the territory of the same vill, two acres of which lie in Thyerlandes between the lands of Walter le Noren on the north side, and the land of William le Machun on the south side, and they abut upon Philip's lands at both ends; and half an acre lying next to Martynmare between the land of the church of St Clement on the west side and the land of William de Sumercotes [Somercotes] on the east side, and it abuts towards the north upon le Flet and towards the south upon the land of Agnes daughter of Ranulf, namely the whole land which Adam had in those places, with all appurtenances. To hold to Philip, his heirs and assigns fully and entirely without any reservation for two marks which Philip gave to Adam in advance. To hold of Adam and his heirs freely, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying 5d yearly to Adam and his heirs at four terms of the year, namely 1¼d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas, for all services, customs and demands.
