Description

Folio: 323v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant in exchange.

First party: Richard, son of Gilbert Stepi of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip Galle of the same vill.

Place or subject: Four selions of arable land in the territory of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] lying with a raised embankment there, namely next between Philip's land on the west side and Richard's land on the east side, the limits of which abut towards the north upon the croft which was of Gilbert, Richard's father, and towards the south upon Richard's land and upon the lands of the same Philip and Ranulf Russell, with free entry and exit through the middle of Richard's croft with wagons, carts and all kinds of beasts without any impediment from Richard or his heirs, and with all other appurtenances, in perpetual exchange for four selions of arable land in the territory of Saltfleetby lying around the raised embankement there, namely next beween the land which was of Gilbert, his father, on the west side and the land which was of John, son of Walter Wyter on the east side, the limits of which abut towards the south upon Philip#s land and towards the north upon the land which was of Gilbert, Richard's father. Saving to Philip and his heirs a sufficient way through the middle of that land from the common way as far as the meadows of the south and from the meadows of the south as far as the common way of the vill, whenever he or they wish, without any impediment. To hold to Philip and his heirs with all appurtenances in perpetual exchange.
