Description

Folio: 316v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant and quitclaim.

First party: Hawise, daughter of Robert son of Ailina, widow.

Second party: John, son of Odo Galle of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: All the lands which she has from herself or her progeny, namely from Robert son of Ailina in the territory of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] nine acres lying in Prudecroft. To hold to John and his heirs freely and quietly, honourably, peacefully, paying 2d to Hawise and her heirs from one acre of land lying in the territory of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] in the parish of St Clement, which he has from Hawise's gift, whose limits abut upon le Grist and Hugflet, and it lies between the land of the church of St Clement of Saltfleetby and the land of Asgan, and the third part of one acre of meadow lying in Kirnedayle, namely 1d at the feast of St Botolph and 1d at Michaelmas for all secular service and exaction, saving the services which pertain to those nine acres, just as his charters bear witness.
