Description

Folios: 316-316v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Agreement.

First party: William Cusyn, son of Philip Cusyn of Burgo [Burgh].

Second party: Walter de Saltfletby [Saltfleetby], son of Richard.

Place or subject: William demised at farm to Walter the whole of his share falling to him by any right after the death of Richard, son of Humphrey de Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] within the vill of Saltfleetby and outside, and in the territory nearby, with his share of Leckburnecroft, in arable lands, meadows, pastures, waters, ways, paths and in all places, with liberties, appurtenances and easements belonging to that land within that vill and outside, without any reservation. Excepting homages, reliefs, escheats, wardships, rents of freeholders and mills. For a certain sum which Walter gave to William in advance. To hold to Walter and his heirs and assigns from that said feast until the end of six years next following, paying yearly to William and his heirs two marks at two terms of the year, namely at the feast of St Botolph one mark and at Michaelmas one mark, for all secular services, customs, suits of court and demands, excepting commons of the vill belonging to the same land. When the entire six years are elapsed and six crops have been received by Walter and his heirs or assigns, the whole of that land will return to William and his heirs from Walter and his heirs and assigns without any challenge or impediment from him, his heirs or assigns.
