Description

Folio: 314v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Robert de Milay, with the advice and assent of his wife and heirs.

Second party: Odo Galle.

Place or subject: The whole of the land which Torold Bunthing held of Roger, his father, in the territory of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby], namely the whole land in which Torold was living, and it extends in length from Apol as far as the meadow of the monks from the park in Thaccroft and in width from Maredic as far as the land of Godfrey Bunting. To hold of Robert and his heirs freely and quietly, paying to Robert and his heirs yearly 1d at the feast of St John the Baptist for all services, exactions and customs, except that Odo and his heirs are to do service to the lords of the fee, namely 14d a year at the four terms, which is to say 3½d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas.
