Description

Folios: 313v-314. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: William, son of Herbert de Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: John, son of Peter Galle of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby], knight.

Place or subject: One toft with a croft and buildings called Grymesbycroft with all appurtenances, liberties and easements, lying between the land of John Galle on the east side and le Kirkgate on the west side, and it extends from the land which Herbert del Hile holds from the south side as far as le Neudykegate towards the north in the vill of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby]. And one croft in the same vill called Leyecrofte, lying between the land of the heirs of Muleton [Moulton] on the west side and the land of Gilbert Tytheboye on the east side, and it extends towards the north upon the land of William son of John and upon the land of William, son of Herbert, and towards the south upon le Neudyke, in pure and perpetual exchange for his whole meadow which he has, had or he or his heirs could have in the future, in Prudecroft in that vill, with all appurtenances, liberties and easements. Which meadow lies between the land of John de Skitebroke [Skidbrooke], William son of Walter and the land of William Galle on the east side, and the land of William, son of Herbert, and the land of the church of All Saints on the west side, and it abuts towards the north upon William's land and le Utegange and towards the south upon le Adyke. To hold of William and his heirs freely, quietly, well and in peace and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs one penny at the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Mary only for all secular service, suit of court and demands.
