Description

Folio: 311v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: John the cook of Saufleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Robert, son of Hugh de Schitebroc [Skidbrooke].

Place or subject: Three acres and three perches of arable land lying in John's croft in Saufleteby [Saltfleetby], one acre of which lies between John's land next on the west side and the land of Walter le Norne next on the east side, whose south side abuts upon the land of Harald son of John beyond the way called Saltergate, and the north side upon John's land. And two acres and three perches lie together between the land of Robert de Yeryeby on the east side and John's land on the west side, and they abut towards the south upon the land of Walter le Norne, and towards the north upon John's land in part. Also one selion of arable land in John's toft in Saufleteby [Saltfleetby] lying between the land of Robert de Heryeby [Hareby] next on the east side and John's land next on the west side, and it abuts upon the Griste towards the north and upon Robert's land towards the south. To hold to Robert and his heirs or assigns, excepting religious men, of John and his heirs freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance. Paying yearly to John and his heirs 4d at Easter for all secular custom, exaction, suit of court and demand.
