Description

Folios: 310-310v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of Roger de Hemyngeby [Hemingby].

Second party: Philip Gale of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One toft with buildings in the vill of Hemyngeby [Hemingby] lying next between the toft of Roger son of Nell of the same vill on the west side and the toft of Robert Fin on the east side. Also half an acre of arable land with appurtenances lying in the north fields of the same vill, namely in that place of the field called Staynholm, and one perch of arable land with appurtenances in the south fields of the vill, which abuts upon that place of the field called Sevenstangke, towards the south. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, in inheritance, well and in peace with all appurtenances, commons and easements within the vill and outside, of Robert and his heirs, paying yearly to the lord of the fee by Robert's appointment 8d on the feast-day of St Botolph for all secular service, suit of court, exaction and demand. For this grant Philip gave Robert a certain sum of money.
