Description

Folio: 309. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Peter, son of Odo Galle of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: William, son of Alan Bee of Somercotes.

Place or subject: One plot of land at the port of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby] with the buildings built thereupon, which contains in length four 'falls' by the perch of sixteen feet and in width two 'falls' and one foot, measured by the same perch, and it lies next to Peter's land on the north side and one common lane on the south side and abuts towards the east upon Peter's land and towards the west upon the common way of the vill. To hold of Peter and his heirs to William and his heirs or assigns, excepting religious men and Jews, freely, quietly and peacefully, in fee and inheritance, with free entry and exit. Paying yearly to Peter and his heirs 4s at the four terms of the year, namely 12d at each of the feasts of Easter, St Botolph, Michaelmas and Christmas, for all secular services, suits of courts, customs and demands. William and his heirs will sustain all commons in the vill which pertain to that plot of land, and ten feet upon the ditch of the sea next on the west side of Robert de Skytebrok [Skidbrooke], clerk.
