Description

Folio: 306v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: William de Manneby, son of Richard de Thatwell.

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Six acres of meadow with appurtenances, surrounded by ditches, in the territory of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby], lying next between the land of the said Philip on the east side, and the marsh, which is called Stiftonn Fenne, on the westside, and the great bank between Saltfletby [Saltfleetby] and Carleton [Carlton] on the south side, and the way which is called Hadicgate on the north side, which place is called Gunnifenne, and whatever the said William had in the said place with appurtenances, with free entry and exit with carts and all kinds of beasts, without any reservation for a certain sum of money. To hold to Philip and his heirs from William and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs one pair of white gloves at Easter for all secular services, customs, suits of court and demands.
