Description

Folio: 305v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Andrew, son of Robert de Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: The whole service which Gregory, his ward (alumpnus), used to pay to Andrew for the tenement he once held of him in the vill of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby], namely 8s a year, to be received at the terms of the soke, 2s at each of the feasts of St Botolph, Michaelmas, Christmas and Easter. And the service of Alan de Manneby [Manby], namely 5d for the land which Andrew bought from Andrew, his nephew in Mikeldeile. And the service of Peter Walter of Hagworingeham [Hagworthingham], namely 5d. And the service of Robert son of William, namely 0½d for the land which they hold on the west side of the house of Robert son of William. And the service of Maud, Andrew's sister, namely 3½d for two selions on the south side of Lenewedyk, and for a meadow in Suthenges, with all appurtenances. Andrew has also remitted to Philip the service of 1½d, which he used to pay to Andrew yearly. For his service. To hold to Philip and his heirs of Andrew and his heirs freely, quietly and in right of inheritance, paying to the lords of the fee, namely 2s 11d to the lord of the soke, 2s 11d to the heirs of Alan de Muletoneu [Moulton], and 4d to Adam son of Robert, and 3d to Robert son of Guette, and 12d to Andrew son of Maud.
