Description

Folio: 305. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Ranulf, son of Adam Pyha of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Second party: Philip, son of Odo Galle of Salfleteby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Six acres of arable land and twenty-one 'falls' in the territory of the same vill, three selions of which lie between the lands of Adam le Vavasur [Vavasour] on both sides, and they abut upon le Mardicgate towards the south, and two selions abut upon the land of Robert son of Iveta towards the east and the land of Gregory son of Andrew towards the south. And the whole land which Ranulf had lying between the lands of Adam le Vavasur on both sides, the sides of which abut upon the land of Robert son of William towards the north, with one selion abutting upon the land of Adam le Vavasur on the east side, and Robert's land on the west side, and whatever Ranulf had in those places, without any reservation, with all appurtenances. For four marks which Philip gave to Ranulf in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns from Ranulf and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying 9d yearly to Ranulf and his heirs at the terms appointed in the soke for all services, customs and demands.
